Love for cooking
On the 24th and 25th September 2016 Salò will be hosting the first edition of the Garda Cooking Cup during which 40 teams will be competing against each other in a challenge combining a love of sailing and a desire to produce high-quality cuisine using local ingredients.
Forty boats, each equipped with an oven, will set sail over the regatta course in the gulf of Salò. During the race the cooks will need to prepare main courses and a dessert which will be assessed by a panel of judges comprised of Davide Oldani, a well-known and respected chef, father of the POP school of cooking and promoter of this event, Carlo Bresciani, President of the local Brescia Association of Chefs and Vice-President of the National Association, Anna Maria Pellegrino, President of the Italian Association of “Food Bloggers” and winner of the “Garda on a Plate” competition.
The final result will be a combination of sailing prowess and skill in the kitchen and contestants will be graded accordingly.
The Pastificio Gaetarelli will co-sponsor the event and will focus on the use of local products/ingredients in determining the overall winner.
